South Bend Cubs Game

Miles, Mom, Dad, and two sets of grandparents had a great sunny afternoon cheering the cubs. Thank goodness for the splash pad at Four Winds Field. Dad would have been so hot and pitiful without it.

A Scary Dinosaur Story

Miles was stalling in bed.
Me: goodnight buddy
Miles: wait! I have to tell you a story. It’s a scary story.
Me: it’s bedtime Sir, you  can tell me tomorrow
Miles: its short! Very short!
Me: ok
Miles: ok, so my wife and I were in our house sleeping, when we heard a crack! And a BOOM! And a tyrannosaurus came crashing through the window and gobbled my honey up. The end. Just kidding.
Me:  wow. That was scary.
Miles: yeah. I told that to Aurelia yesterday. She was pretty scared too. She pretended to cry.

Christmas wishes

Miles gets a card wishing him Merry Christmas and that Santa will bring him lots of great gifts.

“Santa isn’t going to bring me lots of gifts.” He informs us.

“He isn’t? Why not?” I ask.

“Three gifts. Just three gifts.”

“Oh, I see. What are the three gifts Buddy?”

“Buzz Lightyear. A tall Woody (he already has a small one). And a puppy and a baby.”

No, he isn’t talking about a toy puppy or baby. Also, they apparently come as a set. A puppy+baby.

Dad!

Miles spelled dad all by himself! He had to ask me for a second “d” cause we only have one…so the “p” stepped in.

Quote of the day

(Miles throws his stuffed pirate on me, so I pick it up and carry it playfully to the next room, he runs in and takes it back, and exits saying in a sing-song voice to the pirate…)

“I saved you, Pirate, from that mean beastly!”

First Day Preschool 2016

First Day of School

Miles’ first day of school was just the other day.

He had to be woken up to get there before mom had to be at work.
He woke up saying “yay”. I asked him what he was excited about and he said “I get to go to school!”

Putt-Putt Golf

Putt-putt Golf

Today Ashley took an impromptu day off. So after nap we went on our first Putt-Putt Golf outing. It was a nice warm but breezy day. It rained most of the morning.

We weren’t really sure how long he would last so we took him to Essenhaus Mini Golf. He was surprisingly focused and willing to play all the way through 18 holes!
